Shiridhar Kumble(17),who lived all his life in a ghato outside Kolhapur, is all set to touch the stars. His theory of galaxy evolution made his dreams come true. The US based National Aerounatics and Space Administration(NASA) has invited him to join him as Junior Scientist. This is not the first time Sridhar intelligence and knowledge brought him rewards.Before this he was rewarded $10,000 scholarship when he took part in a research competion where he submitted a summary paper on galaxy evolution titled”Huge black-holes stifle Star formation”. Sridhar has been also invited to join Colarado University as Bachelor of Science(astronomy) course which he will be joining in August 2008. Sridhar also won the “Young Scientist award” from Bhaba Research Institute when he ws a student only. His father is a farm labourer and they have mortgaged all their belongings for this purpose only as going abroad is not so easy for Indians. Sridhar story proves- intelligence and knowledge is not dependant on any caste,financial status or the enviornment one lives in. If one has qualities,world will recognise that and honour that person.So here i salute Sridhar, The pride of INDIA.
